What should I do before registration starts?
You can use this time to prepare and get to know ACC! Explore our Areas of Study or take a career assessment to find an academic path that matches your career goals. Have questions? Connect with us at austincc.edu/recruiting to attend an information session or meet 1-on-1 with an advisor to get your questions answered.
Is there still time to submit my FAFSA to get financial aid?
After applying to ACC, your first step to financial aid includes completing your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply for financial grants, loans, and work study employment. Applying early helps ensure the best financial aid options, but FAFSA processes applications year round, meaning it is never too late to complete your FAFSA!
Priority applications for ACC’s fall scholarships end May 1st, 2024. However there is still time to submit your one time scholarship application to be eligible for hundreds of ACC Foundation scholarships for the fall and spring semesters.
I applied last year but didn’t take classes. Do I have to start over with the application?
If you have received an ACCeID and set up your account, you can skip the admissions and applications steps and start registering for classes! If you need help accessing your ACCeID and account information, connect with the ACC Student Help Desk at [email protected] or call 512-223-4636 for assistance.

Will my ACC credits transfer to my university?
Most courses easily transfer to the top universities across Texas, but credit transfer will vary by university. Learn more about ACC’s University Transfer program and how to plan your transfer with course equivalencies broken down by college.
I’m interested in transferring to ACC. How do I know if my credits will transfer?
ACC has an easy and convenient way to check transfer credits and course equivalencies. If the college or course you are looking for is not listed on this page under the Course Equivalencies column, tccns.org provides a comprehensive database of transfer credits and equivalencies across Texas colleges and universities.
I’m not sure I can complete my application in time for the start of the semester. What are my options?
I’ve heard about ACC’s Free Tuition Pilot Program. Am I eligible for the pilot program?
A student’s eligibility for the ACC Free Tuition pilot program is based primarily on two key factors: when they graduated and where they live or where they graduated from.
This means the following:
- A high school graduate must have graduated high school as part of the class of 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028.
- A GED® completer must have earned their GED® on or after July 1, 2023 through July 1, 2028.
- A high school graduate must have graduated from a high school within the ACC service area (see list here).
- A GED® completer or home school graduate must live in the ACC Service Area.
A student who meets the criteria above is likely eligible for the ACC Free Tuition pilot program. Students who live out-of-district will still be responsible for the out-of-district fee for each course ($201 per credit hour).
Here’s some information to help you understand what it means to be in the service area and in the district.
Service Area | The ACC service area covers all or portions of six Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Blanco, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson. You can view the service area map at austincc.edu/servicearea.
In-District | If you live within the service area and pay ACC taxes, you’re considered in-district. These areas include the City of Austin, Austin ISD, Del Valle ISD, Elgin ISD, Hays CISD, Leander ISD, Manor ISD, and Round Rock ISD.
Out-of-District | If you live within the service area but you do not pay ACC taxes or live in any of the taxing regions listed above, you’re considered out-of-district. You will still get free tuition and general fees, but will be responsible for the out-of-district fee ($201 per credit hour).
