You may need to take the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment before starting ACC classes. Visit your nearest Testing Center to take advantage of this opportunity. No appointment needed. A submitted ACC application is required for new students to test for free.

I am eligible for ACC Free Tuition. Can I take summer courses with my free tuition exemption?

It depends on when you graduate high school or complete your TX GED®. All free tuition-eligible students can start using their free tuition exemption the fall semester after receiving a high school diploma/equivalency. So, if you are from the 2025 or 2024 high school graduating class, your ACC Free Tuition will apply to summer courses!

Can I receive financial aid for summer courses?

Yes, full financial aid benefits can be applied during the summer semesters. Grants from your FAFSA application, scholarships, and federal aid are all available and may be used to help pay for your summer semester.

Are there fewer college classes available during the summer?
